Social Impact Alliance for Central & Eastern Europe has released its 2022 Impact Report, detailing its efforts to raise awareness, create a supportive ecosystem, identify solutions, encourage collective action, and equip decision-makers with reliable data.

The report highlights the progress made by the organization towards its goals in Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries. It reveals that the organization substantially raised awareness about its mission and activities to facilitate more informed, intentional and impactful social engagement in Central & Eastern Europe. The think tank secured 300 publications in global media, reaching over 120 million people, and saw a 600% increase in social media engagement. The report also highlights the organization’s media reach per country: 51.2% in Croatia, 13.5% in Poland, 12.2% in Slovakia, 7.8% in Hungary, and 10.5% in the Czech Republic population.

Social Impact Alliance for Central & Eastern Europe has also contributed to creating a supportive ecosystem in the CEE region by exploring social expectations and market needs through the research among general public, experts and national key players, analyzing the philanthropic potential, barriers and incentives, and formulating recommendations for public, private, and social sectors. The geographical scope includes Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia, and Slovenia.

In response to the needs identified for Poland in 2021, Social Impact Alliance for Central & Eastern Europe has prepared a Guide to Employee Volunteering and opened a discussion on VAT on pro bono activity, and on the introduction of additional social criteria into Polish Public Procurement Law.

The report also highlights the organization’s efforts to build a regional network and encourage collective action. Strategic partnerships were established with organizations shaping the national social impact ecosystems in seven of the 11 CEE countries the organization operates in to define needs, priorities, and direct further action. The partners include:

  • Croatia: Croatian Business Council for Sustainable Development, Ilej & Partners – in partnership with Karanovic
  • Czech Republic: Association of Social Responsibility, Dentos Prague Law Firm
  • Hungary: Bridge Budapest, Dentons Réczicza Law Firm
  • Latvia: InCSR i TGS Baltic
  • Poland: Global Compact Network Poland, Dentons (Warsaw Office)
  • Slovakia: Pontis Foundation, Dentos Law Firm
  • Slovenia: AmCham Slovenia, Ketler & partnerji – in partnership with Karanovic

Lastly, the think tank equipped over 1,400 decision-makers from 68 countries with reliable data (230% increase vs. 2021), gathered via 4,200 online interviews with citizens of seven CEE countries and 168 hours of in-depth interviews with key players in seven CEE countries.

“We are proud of our progress towards achieving our goals,” said Anna Korzeniewska, Founder and CEO of Social Impact Alliance for Central & Eastern Europe. “Our 2022 Impact Report demonstrates our commitment to raising awareness, creating a supportive ecosystem, identifying solutions, encouraging collective action, and equipping decision-makers with reliable data.
